During our weekly Physical Education lessons, we focus on students enhancing their own and others’ health, safety, wellbeing and physical activity. Areas covered in our Physical Education program include:
Our Physical Education program emphasis is on fun as well as providing an opportunity and involvement of all children. Many clinics are presented throughout the year for different grade levels including tennis, hockey, basketball, volleyball, football and little athletics. These clinics are conducted by specialists and provide children with an insight into some of the sports they may wish to take up later in life.
Water Safety Education is a required component of the Physical Education program. All students participate in an intensive water safety program. This includes water safety at a local swimming pool and open water experiences for our senior students.
All students participate in our Annual House Athletics Carnival and Grade 3-6 students in our House Swimming Carnival. From Grade 3 onwards, our students have opportunities to play Hoop Time Basketball and Interschool sports.
In Grade 4 all students participate in the Bike Ed program. Bike Ed provides our students the opportunity to learn about safe riding behaviours, road rules and riding in a shared environment. It is an extremely enjoyable program and our students love riding their bikes at school.
A comprehensive Health program is provided to students through our Inquiry Learning and Wellbeing programs.
