Templestowe Park provides a comprehensive learning support program to cater for the learning needs of all students. Additional to the differentiation that takes place in all classrooms, TPPS offers the following learning support programs.
Target Teaching – Students that require additional assistance in Literacy and Maths are selected to attended ‘target teaching’ sessions with our specialist teacher.
MiniLit Reading - Students in Grade 1/2 who require additional support with their reading development participate in the MiniLit program. MiniLit is an evidence-based, explicit and effective early literacy intervention program for teaching reading skills to children.
MacqLit Reading - Students in Grades 3-6 who require additional support with their reading development participate in the MacqLit program. MacqLit is an explicit and systematic reading intervention program for small groups of older low-progress readers.
Reading Tutor Program (RTP) - The MultiLit Reading Tutor Program (RTP) caters for students who have not acquired the basic skills needed to become functional readers. Students from Grade 3-6 participate in this program.
QuickSmart Maths (new in 2026) - QuickSmart is an evidence-based basic skills intervention program designed for upper primary school students who experience persistent difficulties in numeracy. The award-winning programs provide a framework with short and targeted lesson components. The aim of QuickSmart is to enable students to become automatic (quick) in their basic skills in order to move onto more complex problem-solving skills (smart).
