At Templestowe Park, we are continually striving to be our best and we hold great pride in the achievements of our school, students, staff and community. Please see a selection of our achievements below.
Templestowe Park have achieved the high honour of being accredited as a ‘Maths Active School’ by the Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV). Only a small number of schools have achieved this outstanding status. The MAV’s Maths Active Schools initiative is a way to recognise and support schools that consistently demonstrate exceptional learning and teaching practices in Mathematics. TPPS has held this honour since 2017.
Templestowe Park PS was named as a finalist in the 2023 VEEA in the category of Outstanding Provision for High-Ability Students – Primary. The Outstanding Provision for High-Ability Students award recognises exceptional teams within Victorian government schools that have demonstrated excellence in provision for high-ability students, supporting their learning and wellbeing and helping them thrive now and into the future.
First held in 1982, the MTQ is an annual activity open to all primary and secondary students. Students and classes select their own investigation topic based on their personal learning interests and apply mathematics in context. Templestowe Park is one of the highest achieving schools in Victoria in this competition with numerous Outstanding School awards, State champions and National finalists.
This competition first commenced in 2022. A collaboration between the Department of Education and Maths Association of Victoria, The FLIP Challenge focuses on projects that provide a real-world focus to financial literacy. Templestowe Park has won this award for both years that it has been in existence.
Templestowe Park PS has consistently performed extremely well in primary school sport, with numerous District, Regional and State Champions in both individual and team sports.
In 2018 Templestowe Park PS won the ‘Greatest Improvement of School’s Green Space Award’ for the building of the Outdoor Eco Education Centre (OEEC). This space houses our veggie patches, chook shed and run, and outdoor classroom.
